About the Role
Humane Society of Central Oregon (HumanePro) is seeking a Marketing & Communications Manager to help connect the local community of Bend, OR, to the animals and people they serve. Bend offers an outdoor lifestyle with proximity to the Cascades, Deschutes River, and a dog-friendly culture.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and execute communication strategies supporting fundraising, events, adoptions, and community outreach.
- Lead content creation across multiple channels, including email, website, social media, print, and media, highlighting impactful stories that respect animals, clients, donors, and volunteers.
- Manage website, email campaigns, and social media strategies, leveraging analytics to boost engagement and fundraising outcomes.
- Recruit, onboard, and oversee a Digital Media Specialist.
- Act as a spokesperson by conducting interviews, representing the organization at community functions, managing media relations, and preparing public releases including crisis communications.
Candidate Profile
- Possesses 4 to 6 years of experience in communications, marketing, public relations, or journalism, preferably within the nonprofit sector.
- Excellent writing, editing, and project management skills across diverse channels.
- Comfortable with public speaking including interviews and presentations.
- Skilled in email marketing platforms, content management systems, social media, analytics tools, and design software.
- Holds a bachelor’s degree in a related discipline or has equivalent experience and a valid driver’s license.
- Additional assets include knowledge of nonprofit fundraising, animal welfare, photography/video, WordPress, donor CRMs, Google Analytics 4, and A/B testing.
Compensation and Benefits
- Annual salary ranging from $55,800 to $64,000 based on experience.

Work Environment and Conditions
