Job Overview
The Marine Terminal Supervisor is responsible for managing vessel loading and unloading processes and overseeing client cargo handling. This role entails leadership in promoting health and safety, operational efficiency, customer service excellence, environmental responsibility, and enhancing employee engagement.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and allocate lifting equipment and heavy machinery resources effectively.
- Delegate tasks and supervise a team consisting of twenty longshoremen.
- Coordinate work execution to adhere to scheduled timelines.
- Ensure adherence to safety protocols and enforce environmental and operational standards.
- Promote continuous improvement and innovation in operational practices to maximize machinery and labor efficiency.
- Maintain client satisfaction by providing timely updates to stakeholders.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Demonstrated leadership skills coupled with practical decision-making ability.
- Willingness to work on a rotating schedule, including weekends and night shifts.
- Comfortable working outdoors in a dynamic environment without routine constraints.
- Interest and experience working with industrial equipment and heavy machinery.
