Manufacturing Manager (Metal)

About the Role

An innovative and rapidly expanding technology firm located in Garching, Bavaria, Germany, is seeking a Metal Manufacturing Manager to lead and enhance their metal manufacturing operations. The company, currently composed of approximately 10 staff members with plans to increase to 18, is transitioning from prototype development to serial production. This position provides a crucial leadership opportunity to develop scalable manufacturing processes and contribute significantly to the company's growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and improve metal manufacturing workflows, covering prototype to full-scale serial production.
• Develop scalable manufacturing standards and processes that support ongoing business expansion.
• Implement continuous improvements to increase quality, efficiency, and production capacity.
• Supervise metal fabrication techniques such as forming, bending, welding, and joining.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to align product designs with manufacturability principles.
• Facilitate the adoption of new equipment, production technologies, and manufacturing systems.
• Identify and promote automation and process enhancement opportunities to achieve operational excellence.
• Maintain strong partnerships within the company and with external manufacturing collaborators.

Candidate Requirements

• Demonstrable experience in metal manufacturing, production engineering, industrialization, or leadership roles within manufacturing.
• Hands-on knowledge of metal forming, bending, welding, and joining technologies.
• Track record of transitioning products from research and development or prototype phases to repeatable production processes.
• Solid understanding of lean manufacturing principles, process optimization, and continuous improvement strategies.
• Ability to operate independently and exert influence across cross-functional teams, including engineering and production.
• Entrepreneurial attitude with eagerness to advance into senior manufacturing leadership positions.
