Maintenance Technician

Role Overview

Kids Inc. invites applicants for a full-time Maintenance Technician position on a fixed-term contract, with strong prospects for permanent employment. This role requires working Tuesday to Friday from 11:00am to 8:00pm, and Saturday from 8:00am to 5:00pm, mainly across various Kids Inc. sites in Dublin.

With over 25 years in childcare, Kids Inc. is a leading provider of early education and afterschool care in Ireland, operating upwards of 70 Breakfast and Afterschool services alongside Creche and Preschool locations.

Primary Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and repair duties across multiple sites, including plumbing, carpentry, tiling, painting, and mechanical tasks.
• Manage handyman repairs and general upkeep of facilities, ensuring safety and functionality at all times.
• Handle the assembly, movement, and maintenance of furniture and equipment as necessary.
• Safely operate both hand and power tools in compliance with health and safety guidelines.
• Maintain environments that are secure and hospitable for children, staff, and visitors.
• Drive a company vehicle between locations within Dublin to complete scheduled and urgent maintenance assignments.
• Organize and adjust workload priorities according to maintenance requests and operational demands.
• Document maintenance activities and provide updates through email communications.

Candidate Profile

• Experience of at least three years in building maintenance, facilities management, or a related field.
• Competent in basic plumbing, carpentry, painting, tiling, and general repair skills.
• Self-directed with strong organizational and time management abilities.
• Reliable, professional, and able to communicate effectively in a childcare setting.
• Familiar with email and reporting procedures.
• Fluent in English and proficient in stakeholder engagement.

Essential Qualifications

• Possession of a valid, clean Category B driving license is mandatory.
• Ability and willingness to travel between Kids Inc. service locations throughout Dublin.
• A Category D or D1 driving license is beneficial but not compulsory.
