Role overview
Churches of Christ in Queensland is seeking a Maintenance Officer to join the Moreton Bay Retirement Living team in Bongaree, Queensland. This is a permanent full-time position with 76 hours per fortnight (38 hours per week). The role is ideal for someone who enjoys outdoor work, practical tasks, and helping maintain safe, attractive, and well-functioning community spaces.
You will work as part of a small, committed team and contribute to the upkeep of gardens, grounds, and facilities. The work is varied and hands-on, combining landscaping-style tasks with general maintenance and minor repair work.
Key duties
- Keep gardens healthy and well presented through hedge trimming, pruning, fertilising, mulching, and general plant care.
- Look after outdoor areas by clearing green waste, controlling weeds, and maintaining tidy paths and communal spaces.
- Carry out general maintenance tasks and minor repairs using practical trade skills.
- Assist with everyday maintenance jobs as needed, including small repair tasks.
- Work according to the preventive maintenance plan so facilities remain in good condition.

What you will need
- Current First Aid and CPR certification.
- Understanding of Work Health and Safety requirements, or a willingness to obtain the required certification within one month.

- Strong background in maintenance, handyman work, or groundskeeping.
- Experience in aged care or community services is preferred but not essential.
- Valid Australian work rights; sponsorship is not available.
