Logistics Management Specialist

Role Overview

The Logistics Management Specialist serves as the principal Senior Logistics Planner Liaison for an assigned organization or area, ensuring the integration of logistics resources and capabilities to boost combat readiness. The role involves comprehensive planning, coordinating with command planners, preparing various operational reports, and collaborating with specialists to secure necessary manpower, supplies, and equipment.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as the Senior Logistics Planner Liaison supporting designated organizational areas.
• Advise and coordinate with Command Planners concerning the DLA Troop Support’s logistics capabilities for enhanced combat preparedness.
• Prepare, finalize, and manage essential documents such as Situation Reports (SITREPs), point papers, trip and staff reports, and Operation Plans (OPLANs).
• Perform detailed analysis and strategic planning covering contingency operations across all phases.
• Work closely with functional experts to ensure adequate provisioning of personnel, supplies, equipment, and services.

Qualifications and Requirements

• U.S. citizenship is mandatory.
• Security clearance at Special Sensitive/SCI level required.
• Flexible tour of duty arrangements.
• Pass a favorable suitability and background check, including a pre-employment physical and compliance with Selective Service registration for applicable males.
• Must satisfy provisions for REAL ID or acceptable identification to access federal facilities.
• Appointment contingent on completion of DoD certification for Defense Acquisition Workforce and ongoing continuous learning requirements.
• One year specialized experience equivalent to GS-12 level or equivalent, involving: evaluating logistics support plans, preparing various operational reports, engaging in comprehensive planning of troop support logistics, and applying logistics policies.
• Physical demands generally sedentary but include light to moderate labor during deployment for base setup and reconstitution.
• Must agree to work as a Mission Essential employee, including emergency reporting and potential deployment under Expeditionary Civilian non-combat essential designation.
• Comply with Exceptional Family Member Program and other DoD instructions related to overseas duty and family support.
• Drug-free workplace adherence with mandatory testing and policy compliance.
