About the Role
A prominent Aerospace & Defence Electronics company based in Chennai is seeking a skilled Lead Specialist to spearhead the Radar Application Development team, contributing to the conceptualization and advancement of cutting-edge radar technologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, design, develop, and test Board Support Package (BSP) and Uboot software systems, enhancing functionalities for both new products and existing solutions.
- Address and resolve software-related customer issues and implement necessary software modifications.
- Create and deploy real-time radar algorithms such as Pulse Compression, Moving Target Indicator (MTI), Pulse Doppler Processing, and Constant False Alarm Rate (CFAR) detection.
- Develop sophisticated radar system models using MATLAB/Simulink or Python to analyze detection probability (Pd) and false alarm probability (Pfa).
- Transfer validated algorithms onto hardware platforms, including FPGAs (Xilinx/Altera) and high-performance DSPs.
- Work collaboratively with firmware engineers for VHDL/Verilog implementations.
- Innovate on methods for clutter noise suppression, jammer cancellation through ECCM, and side-lobe reduction techniques.
- Assist in integrating signal processing software with RF front-end components and back-end data processing units.
Technical Expertise
- Strong grasp of radar fundamentals including Pulsed Doppler, FMCW, Phased Array, and Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) systems.
- Advanced knowledge of digital signal processing technologies such as FFT, FIR/IIR digital filters, adaptive filtering, and multi-rate DSP.
- Proficiency in MATLAB with signal processing and radar toolboxes, and programming languages C and C++.
- Hands-on experience with hardware including ADC/DAC interfaces, high-speed Serializer/Deserializer (SerDes), and FPGA DSP slices.
- Familiarity with advanced radar concepts like Micro-Doppler effect analysis, Angle of Arrival (AoA) estimation, and Beamforming techniques is considered advantageous.

This position is with a defense and space oriented electronics manufacturer specializing in electrical and electronic manufacturing, machinery, and computer & network security sectors.
Preferred Candidate Profile
- Background in Defense and Aerospace sectors, particularly within Defense Electronics and Radar & Signal Processing systems.
- Experience in electronics manufacturing environments is desirable.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must hold a B.Tech or B.E degree in Computer Science and Engineering (CSE), Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE), Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEE), or Information Technology (IT).
Compensation
The offered annual salary range is between 20,00,000 and 25,00,000 Indian Rupees.
