Role Overview

We are seeking a Lead for Business Intelligence to join our Revenue Operations team in New York, responsible for owning and managing the BI systems and leading a team of analysts. This role bridges advanced data infrastructure management with translating business insights for executive stakeholders and collaborating across sales, finance, and operations functions.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain Samba's BI infrastructure hosted on Azure, including Synapse Analytics, Data Factory, and Blob Storage.
• Develop, optimize, and evolve complex data pipelines covering ingestion, transformation, and delivery processes.
• Write and tune sophisticated SQL queries, stored procedures, and pipeline logic ensuring high performance.
• Collaborate with data engineering teams to integrate upstream systems such as Salesforce, demand-side platforms (DSPs), and advertising platforms.
• Ensure data quality, pipeline stability, and comprehensive documentation adhering to team standards.
• Lead creation and upkeep of Power BI dashboards and other reporting solutions to meet various business needs.
• Translate stakeholder requirements into insightful data models and reports, providing support for revenue analytics including advertiser, DSP, and product-level performance.
• Conduct ad hoc data analyses and deep dives as necessary to answer business queries.
• Work cross-functionally with teams across Sales, Sales Support, Finance, Marketing, and Product to maintain a robust analytics platform.
• Supervise, mentor, and develop a global team of BI analysts to maximize their effectiveness and professional growth.
• Prioritize and manage incoming data requests in partnership with the Director of Business Intelligence.
• Define and enforce coding, documentation, and delivery standards within the BI team.
• Serve as the authoritative expert on the BI infrastructure within the company.

Candidate Profile

• A strong sense of ownership for building reliable systems and leading teams with precision.
• Deep technical expertise in data infrastructure, not settling for superficial fixes.
• Excellent communication skills to simplify complex data concepts for broad audiences.
• Collaborative mindset, comfortable working across multiple time zones and departments.
• Minimum of 5 years experience in business intelligence, data analytics, or data engineering roles.
• Advanced proficiency in SQL, including use of window functions, complex joins, stored procedures, and query performance optimization.
• Hands-on experience managing Azure cloud services such as Synapse Analytics, Data Factory, and Blob Storage.
• Expertise in Power BI or similar BI tools like Tableau, Looker, or Sigma.
• Experience leading or mentoring junior analysts or engineers.
• Ability to clearly communicate both technical and non-technical information.
• Comfort working in dynamic, high-responsibility environments.
• Background in ad tech, media intelligence, or programmatic advertising platforms (DSPs, SSPs, audience targeting data).
• Familiarity with Salesforce as the authoritative revenue data source.
• Experience collaborating with global teams spanning multiple time zones.
• Basic knowledge or exposure to Microsoft Fabric or awareness of Azure Fabric roadmap developments.
