Position Overview

The Laboratory Instructor plays a vital role in enhancing both teaching and learning experiences by assisting faculty during practical lab sessions, managing lab equipment, and ensuring the laboratories operate efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Assist faculty in designing and executing undergraduate engineering lab sessions.
• Prepare equipment, materials, and setups before laboratory classes commence.
• Guide students in experiment execution and proper instrument usage following safety standards.
• Ensure regular upkeep, calibration, and appropriate storage of lab devices.
• Keep track of lab supplies and consumables, coordinating replenishment as necessary.
• Contribute to creation of lab manuals, experiment procedure documents, and demonstration content.
• Uphold all laboratory safety protocols and contribute to safety implementation.
• Support installation and testing of new lab apparatus.
• Maintain clean, organized, and ready laboratories consistently.
• Engage in departmental functions such as workshops, project displays, and exhibitions.
• Promptly report any equipment malfunctions or safety concerns to supervisors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Technology (B.E./B.Tech) in a related specialization.
• Open to fresh graduates or candidates with experience up to two years.
• Fundamental knowledge of laboratory operations, instruments, and procedures pertinent to the specific field.

• Strong technical aptitude and keen interest in practical experimentation.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills to support student guidance.
• Careful handling of lab instruments and strict adherence to safety norms.
• Basic computer literacy for maintaining lab records and report generation.

Reporting Structure

This role reports directly to the Director or Dean of the institution.
