Junior Structural Engineer

Job Overview

We are looking for a proactive Junior Structural Engineer to assist our engineering team in designing, coordinating, and documenting building structures. This role involves contributing to structural calculations, preparation of drawings, and compiling technical documentation to ensure all projects meet specified engineering standards and codes.

Core Duties

• Assist with preparing structural calculations, technical reports, and design drawings.
• Support the design of building structures under senior engineer guidance.
• Review structural drawings and coordinate with architectural and MEP teams.
• Analyze structural components for compliance with codes and project specifications.
• Help review and prepare shop drawings and material submissions.
• Assist in scrutinizing tender and IFC drawings to detect design inconsistencies.
• Collaborate with architects, MEP engineers, consultants, and project teams for resolving design concerns.
• Support material quantification and structural work estimates.
• Participate in site inspections to verify construction adherence to plans and specifications.
• Contribute to preparation of technical packages and engineering documentation.
• Help evaluate technical submissions from suppliers and subcontractors.
• Maintain thorough project documentation and records.
• Adhere to health, safety, and environmental policies, and support IMS frameworks.

Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• Up to three years of experience in structural engineering, internships valued.
• Foundational knowledge of structural analysis; understanding of reinforced concrete and steel design.
• Awareness of international engineering codes and standards.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD; experience with ETABS, SAFE, SAP2000, STAAD.Pro, or Revit is a plus.
• Strong analytical and organizational abilities.
• Capability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
• ERP system familiarity, especially SAP, advantageous.
• Experience in the GCC region is not mandatory but seen as beneficial.
• Effective communication skills and eagerness to learn in a dynamic work environment.
