Role Overview

The Junior Lifeguard plays a key role in supporting the Recreation team to maintain a safe, clean, and enjoyable swimming pool area for both hotel guests and members of the leisure club. Under guidance from senior staff, this position involves enforcing pool safety guidelines, monitoring guest activities, and responding appropriately to emergencies, all while embodying IHG's Winning Ways values: Do the Right Thing, Show We Care, Aim Higher, Celebrate Difference, and Work Better Together.

Key Responsibilities

• Constantly supervise the swimming pool and adjacent areas to ensure guest safety.
• Professionally enforce pool rules and safety standards while maintaining a courteous demeanor.
• React swiftly to emergencies by administering First Aid or CPR as per certification and training.
• Report any incidents, hazards, or unsafe situations immediately to the Senior Lifeguard or Recreation Supervisor.
• Conduct routine safety inspections and ensure lifesaving equipment is clean, accessible, and functional.
• Maintain cleanliness and presentation of pool decks, changing rooms, and recreational facilities.
• Assist with swimming lessons and support recreational activities as directed.
• Provide guests assistance with towels, pool equipment, and general inquiries, ensuring excellent customer service.
• Keep precise records of attendance and any incidents.
• Engage in ongoing training sessions, emergency drills, and maintain all necessary certifications in lifeguarding and First Aid.
• Collaborate effectively with Recreation, Housekeeping, Engineering, and Security teams to guarantee a safe, enjoyable experience.
• Deliver exceptional hospitality, warmly welcoming guests and addressing inquiries in alignment with IHG standards.
