Job Overview
The IT Systems Engineer will deliver comprehensive remote and on-site support to managed services clients, handling all aspects of technology infrastructure including workstations, servers, cloud services, printers, networks, and vendor-specific hardware/software. Collaborating with senior technical staff and account managers, this role will address urgent escalation issues, assist with routine maintenance, and contribute to improvement initiatives.

Core Responsibilities
- Provide IT support addressing client issues related to business applications and operating systems.
- Manage support for Microsoft technologies including Windows Server, Exchange, SharePoint, Microsoft 365, Teams & Phone Systems, Azure, etc.
- Maintain backup and disaster recovery solutions, performing restores when required.
- Offer foundational network support covering WAN/LAN connectivity, routers, firewalls, and security.
- Implement and support remote access setups such as VPN, Terminal Services, Windows 365, Azure WVD, and ConnectWise Control.
- Monitor help desk and remote management alerts, responding through service ticketing systems accordingly.
- Document maintenance for computer systems and network infrastructures comprehensively.
- Maintain proactive communication with clients about incident updates, scheduled changes, or confirmed outages.
Additional Duties
- Enhance customer satisfaction through improved service and timely responses.
- Work cooperatively within teams and maintain effective communication.
- Coordinate with dispatch teams to route requests efficiently to appropriate resources.
- Escalate complex issues requiring senior support promptly.
- Accurately log time, expenses, and work details into service tickets.
- Complete assigned training to fully understand relevant processes.
Required Skills and Competencies
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft operating systems, business applications, printing, and network systems.
- Excellent interpersonal capabilities including video conferencing, telephony, communication, active listening, and customer service skills.
- Proficient diagnostic skills for technical issues.
- Able to multitask and adapt quickly in a dynamic environment.
- Technical insight to assign appropriate resources to problems effectively.
- Comprehensive understanding of supported IT services.
- Familiarity with tools and techniques for supporting IT services.
- Typing proficiency for quick and accurate service ticket documentation.
- Self-driven with the capacity to thrive in fast-paced settings.
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum 3 years in help desk, service desk, desktop support, network administration, field service, or related technical roles or equivalent education.
- Professional IT certifications such as Microsoft, Cisco, CompTIA, ConnectWise CCPA, LabTech LTCP, Microsoft 365 or Azure are advantageous though not mandatory.
- Associate degree (AA/AS) in computer science or related disciplines preferred but not required.
