About the Role
Podium IT, a well-established IT support provider servicing diverse industries, is inviting applications for an IT Support Technician role based in Melbourne. Initially, you will work closely with the Managing Director and assist the company’s largest clients by delivering IT support both remotely and on-site. You will gain exposure to cutting-edge technology and engage in critical IT infrastructure projects, particularly within the healthcare sector, working with specialized software suites.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary point of contact for client IT issues via phone, email, and other communication channels.
- Promptly and professionally respond to client inquiries during business hours, Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM.
- Create and resolve support tickets, managing escalation procedures as necessary.
- Improve internal workflows related to ticket management and client experience.
- Maintain the Managing Director’s client site visit calendar.
- Handle software and hardware procurement, including preparing supply and installation quotations.
- Conduct regular meetings with the Managing Director to present findings and propose business improvements.
- Perform on-site support by completing tasks and professionally addressing client requests during visits.
- Demonstrate increasing responsibility with a goal to lead a team of technicians in the future.
Required Skills and Experience
- Strong troubleshooting abilities combined with excellent client service professionalism.
- Basic knowledge of small business IT networking.
- Familiarity with healthcare-specific medical software such as Medical Director and Best Practice.
- Experience using Autotask endpoint management and PSA tools.
- Proficiency managing Windows Server 2008 to 2016 environments including domain, workgroup, and RDP setups.
- Competence with Windows 7 through Windows 10 operating systems.
- Understanding of IP addressing, DNS, DHCP, and networking concepts including WAN, WLAN, LAN, switches, and routers.
- Skills in server hardware configuration and printer setup.
- Knowledge of cloud infrastructure, specifically AWS.
Performance Indicators
Success in the role will be measured by your ability to efficiently create and resolve most tickets, manage the Managing Director’s onsite calendar effectively, and maintain professional client interactions. Additionally, demonstrating initiative and representing Podium IT with the highest standards is essential.
