About the Position and Location

Located on New Zealand's picturesque South Island near the shores of Lake Tekapo, Mantra Lake Tekapo offers comfortable accommodations including one, two, and three bedroom apartments, along with facilities such as a swimming pool, hot tub, barbeque area, and outdoor fireplace for guest enjoyment. This scenic locale provides opportunities to explore the Southern Alps, Mount Cook National Park, and experience stargazing in a UNESCO Dark Sky Reserve.

Role Purpose

The Housekeeping Supervisor leads the housekeeping team to ensure daily cleaning standards are met with excellence. You will motivate and develop the team, maintaining high cleanliness and productivity levels, ultimately creating a safe and pristine environment for guests.

Key Responsibilities

Coordinate daily operations of the housekeeping team to ensure an efficient workflow.
Provide ongoing coaching and training to enhance team skills and morale.
Uphold rigorous cleanliness and productivity standards in line with company policies.
Manage room assignments during shifts to balance workloads.
Monitor safety standards, labor costs, and conduct daily inspections to assure quality.

Skills and Experience Required

Strong attention to detail with prior leadership experience in housekeeping.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and time management abilities paired with a friendly, outgoing demeanor.
Ability to adapt quickly to changing daily needs to ensure smooth operations.
High personal grooming standards and professional appearance.
Readiness to lead by example and work alongside the team to ensure success.
Dependable transportation and flexibility to work varied shifts including weekends and public holidays.

Education and Experience

Applicants should have either a New Zealand Diploma or equivalent qualification, or at least three years of relevant housekeeping experience.

Working Hours and Compensation

This is a permanent full-time role requiring between 30 and 48 hours per week. The pay rate ranges from NZD 28 to 29 per hour.
