Job Responsibilities

• Dusting, cleaning, and polishing furniture, counters, shelving, walls, and window and door ledges.
• Maintaining cleanliness of sinks, toilets, and bathing areas.
• Restocking supplies in resident rooms, nursing units, and restrooms to ensure availability.
• Emptying trash containers, cleaning them, and disposing of waste appropriately.
• Ensuring food quality, presentation, dining area appearance, and service align with department standards.
• Verifying meals meet correct temperature, portion sizes, and are served punctually.
• Reporting equipment malfunctions or temperature irregularities promptly to supervisors and taking corrective actions as needed.
• Keeping updated with daily menu changes and resident updates.
• Properly receiving and storing food supplies.
• Preparing carts for fluid passes, snacks, and night meals, and assisting with their distribution as necessary.
• Providing resident menu feedback to management through audits, feedback forms, or verbal communication.
• Sorting laundry by type—linens, mops, personal clothing—and operating washing machines using appropriate methods.
• Managing dryers and extractors; loading, setting cycles, and unloading laundry accordingly.
• Organizing clean laundry into designated baskets or racks, counting linens per area quota, and handling resident clothing appropriately.
• Transporting soiled and clean laundry throughout the facility using carts.
• Inspecting clothing for damage and forwarding items requiring repair to the seamstress.
• Performing additional duties as assigned.

Candidate Profile

• Completion of High School or GED.
• At least one year of experience in commercial housekeeping and/or laundry preferred.
• Possession of valid CPR/First Aid certification is advantageous.
• Candidates must successfully pass a clear Criminal Record Check and, if applicable, a Vulnerable Sector Check prior to hiring.
• Experience in housekeeping, laundry, food services, or long-term care is considered a plus.
• Aptitude for learning and thriving in a fast-paced environment.
• Flexibility to work varied hours, including days, weekends, and holidays.
