Hotel Cleanliness Supervisor

About the Role

This position sits within the housekeeping and laundry function at JW Marriott in Auckland. The role focuses on maintaining room and public-area quality, supporting daily housekeeping operations, and helping ensure a consistently high guest experience in a luxury hotel environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Check guest rooms, public areas, pool areas, and similar spaces after cleaning to confirm that standards have been met.
• Review sold-room reports, verify room status, identify discrepancies, and prioritise rooms that need attention.
• Track departing guest rooms and update room status accordingly.
• Support housekeeping leaders with day-to-day operational tasks.
• Coordinate closely with Engineering, Front Office, and Laundry to keep operations aligned.
• Record and help resolve room-status issues with the Front Desk.
• Prepare, distribute, and communicate room-assignment changes.
• Pass important information to the next shift and complete required paperwork.
• Assist with hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counselling, disciplining, motivating, and coaching team members.
• Follow company safety, security, and quality procedures, and report maintenance issues, hazards, accidents, or injuries.
• Complete required safety training and certifications.
• Maintain a clean, professional appearance and protect confidential information and company assets.
• Welcome guests courteously, anticipate service needs, and assist guests with disabilities when needed.
• Use clear, professional communication and maintain positive working relationships with colleagues.
• Meet expected quality standards in all work performed.
• Carry out physical duties such as lifting, pushing, pulling, bending, stooping, and standing for extended periods.
• Use computers or point-of-sale systems to enter and locate work-related information.
• Read and verify information in different formats, including small print.
• Perform other reasonable duties assigned by supervisors.
