Hire Controller

Role overview

Big Chief Hire Burton SA, part of Northeast Auto Group, is looking for an organised and driven Hire Controller to help coordinate equipment hire, support customers, and keep daily operations running efficiently in a busy, team-oriented setting.

In this position, you will be central to hire operations, maintaining customer relationships, handling bookings, and making sure equipment is delivered on schedule and ready to go. The role also involves identifying sales opportunities through daily customer interactions while keeping the workflow smooth and well-managed.

Key duties

• Oversee the full hire cycle, including reservations, scheduling, dispatch, and returns.
• Advise customers on equipment availability and suggest hire options that suit their needs.
• Arrange transport, delivery, and collection of machinery and vehicles.
• Keep precise records of equipment located in branch, out on hire, or under service/repair.
• Track hire agreements, contracts, and all supporting paperwork.

What we are looking for

You should be comfortable working in a fast-moving environment and happy to act as a key contact point for customers and the team. Experience in truck or machinery hire is strongly preferred.
