Role Overview

Join PhaseLink in Nyika Growth Point, Masvingo Province, Zimbabwe, to spearhead innovative marketing and development strategies that leverage large language models (LLMs) and cutting-edge AI technologies. This multi-faceted position involves designing and deploying AI agents, handling full-stack application development, managing paid acquisition campaigns, executing organic content distribution, and potentially carving out specialized roles within the team.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and deploy production-grade agents combining LLMs with tools and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) to support client operations.
• Create and manage evaluation suites that persist beyond model updates, ensuring quality and performance.
• Lead vendor selection decisions among Anthropic, OpenAI, and other open-source models based on suitability for specific use cases.
• Collaborate closely with consulting teams during discovery phases, authoring architectural decision records prior to coding.
• Build the surrounding application infrastructure, including dashboards, integrations with client tools (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot, Zendesk), authentication, billing systems, internal tools, and maintain systems observability alongside CI/CD pipelines and participate in on-call rotations.
• Manage top-of-funnel marketing activities such as paid acquisition, lead generation experiments, conversion optimization, and attribution tracking, handling budgets of $30,000 or more monthly.
• Design and run marketing experiments focused on key website elements like hero banners, pricing, contact, and application forms, ensuring every campaign correlates to qualified sales meetings.
• Develop and expand organic growth through comprehensive long-form technical content, SEO, and AI search optimization strategies, maintaining pillar content libraries and industry-specific pages.
• Optionally propose and establish new roles (e.g., Voice Agent Engineer, Brand Designer) by demonstrating a clear vision and past production-level achievements within similar responsibilities.

Qualifications and Experience

• At least 3 years of hands-on experience delivering AI solutions in production environments (beyond experimentation with notebooks), including familiarity with multiple platforms such as Anthropic, OpenAI, Vertex AI, or local models.
• Proficiency in Python or TypeScript programming, with a track record of developing evaluation frameworks from the ground up.
• 4+ years of full-stack software development experience at production scale, with expertise in React, TypeScript, Next.js, Postgres, and deployment platforms like Vercel.
• Demonstrated capability to manage cloud infrastructure, queues, background jobs, and pragmatic decision-making to meet release deadlines.
• Experience running B2B SaaS or services paid acquisition campaigns, managing budgets of at least $30k per month, and fluency in attribution tools and platforms such as UTM parameters, dbt, and Google Analytics 4.
• Strong skills in conversion-focused marketing copywriting.
• A well-developed portfolio of technical writing, ideally engineering-related, with a successful record in increasing organic domain traffic from under 1,000 to over 50,000 monthly visitors.
• Comfortable using MDX, GitHub pull requests, and Next.js content management as code.
• Ability to articulate and implement SEO strategies addressing both traditional search engines and AI-based answer platforms like ChatGPT, Claude, and Perplexity.
• Demonstrated ability to work autonomously as a pioneering hire in specialized domains.
