Role Overview
We are seeking a qualified actuary to join our GMP Equalisation team based in Belfast. This permanent, full-time position offers hybrid working flexibility. Our team utilizes a distinctive approach to addressing GMP-related challenges and we welcome technically inclined professionals to be part of this large and dynamic team.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist clients in resolving GMP issues as part of the GMP Equalisation team.
- Review complex actuarial models and calculations, providing sign-off where appropriate.
- Evaluate and approve written advice prepared for clients on GMP topics.
- Optionally, present these advisories in client meetings.
- Communicate regularly with the GMP team, client groups, and other departments within XPS.
- As GMP-related projects decrease, broaden your technical expertise by engaging with other technical initiatives across the firm.
- Participate in specialist research and development groups that support the wider team by generating resources and innovative ideas.
Candidate Profile
- A strong interest in actuarial principles, the broader pensions sector, and financial markets.
- A curious mindset coupled with eagerness to learn and develop.
- Highly motivated with a drive for success.
- Capability to analytically solve complex problems and devise solutions.
- Exceptional accuracy and meticulous attention to detail.
- Adaptability and ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
- Well-organized with excellent prioritization skills.
Qualifications
- Fellow of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries (FIA) qualification is mandatory.
