Role Overview

As a Frontend / UX Engineer at Atira, you will translate cutting-edge AI capabilities into practical tools that sales engineers use daily. Your work directly impacts user trust and usability as you design interactive interfaces for complex workflows involving document parsing, specification reconciliation, and data integration across multiple enterprise systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and own user interfaces where AI agents and humans collaborate, including chat features with human-in-the-loop elements, detailed document review UIs supporting diverse data inputs, agent activity timelines, approval workflows, and internal development tools.
• Lead frontend architecture and design efforts, ensuring UI/UX deliverables are scalable, consistent, and maintainable across the team.
• Create performant interfaces capable of handling data-intensive documents such as extensive RFQs, Excel pricing sheets, BOMs, and technical drawings without degrading browser performance.
• Develop full-stack features, from React components to API routes, independently while collaborating effectively with backend and AI-focused engineers.
• Establish and maintain high standards in user experience including motion, interaction quality, latency, and visual polish through a robust design system and reusable component primitives.
• Implement reliable testing strategies using tools like Playwright to cover critical interaction flows and handle various UI states including loading, errors, empty content, and partial data loads.

Candidate Profile

• Deep expertise in frontend development with strong command over TypeScript and React, including advanced concepts like rendering behavior, Suspense, server components, and concurrency features.
• Exceptional design sensibilities and a strong opinion on UI/UX to minimize user friction and boost feature adoption.
• Experience with React ecosystem technologies, such as Next.js, Tanstack libraries (Query, Table, Router, Start), Vite, as well as UI libraries like Tailwind, shadcn/ui, and Radix.
• Proven ability in leveraging AI-assisted development tools and workflows to maximize efficiency in coding.
• Strong decision-making skills regarding rendering strategies, state management, data fetching, and component architecture.
• Demonstrated initiative and ownership either through founding ventures, significant open-source contributions, scalable side projects, or leading critical user-facing products.
• A degree in Computer Science, Human-Computer Interaction, Design Engineering or related technical discipline from a reputable university, or an equivalent portfolio of shipped work.
• Fluent professional English communication skills; knowledge of German is not mandatory.

Success Indicators Within Initial Months

• Delivery of key agent-human interaction interfaces utilized daily by customers and recognized by field engineers for accelerating deal closures.
• Ownership and stewardship of major frontend surfaces such as chat, document review, agent trace, internal tools, or the design system.
• Ability to diagnose and resolve issues spanning frontend frameworks, API contracts, and backend services.
• Maintain performant frontend architecture under real-use conditions and articulate the rationale behind architectural choices and potential improvements.
