Fitter Technician

Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Fitter Technician to operate, monitor, and maintain mechanical filtration systems used in industrial chemical processes, specifically focusing on phosphoric acid slurry filtration and gypsum separation.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate and regularly oversee mechanical filtration equipment including Vacuum Filters, Tilting Pan Filters, Belt Filters, and Rotary Table Filters.
• Ensure uninterrupted filtration process adhering to quality standards for phosphoric acid slurry and gypsum separation.
• Monitor critical parameters such as filter efficiency, vacuum pressure, filtrate flow rate, cake thickness, and washing performance.
• Perform scheduled inspections, preventive maintenance, lubrication, and minor repairs on filtration machinery.
• Replace and maintain essential components such as filter cloths, seals, bearings, and rollers to ensure optimal operation.
• Collaborate closely with DCS control operators, production teams, and maintenance staff to facilitate smooth plant operations.
• Diagnose and resolve mechanical problems promptly to reduce downtime.
• Maintain cleanliness and adhere to safety protocols when handling corrosive substances.
• Accurately document operational data, maintenance work, and shift activities.

Qualifications and Experience

• ITI certification in Fitter, Mechanical, Turner, Diesel Mechanic, or similar vocational discipline.
• At least 5 years of practical experience in fertilizer, phosphoric acid, chemical, or filtration industry sectors.
• Proven expertise working with vacuum filtration systems such as Vacuum Filters, Tilting Pan Filters, Belt Filters, or Rotary Table Filters.
• Solid understanding of related mechanical equipment including pumps, gearboxes, bearings, conveyors, and vacuum systems.
• Competence in independently troubleshooting mechanical faults and performing preventive and corrective maintenance.

Applicants should be prepared to work onsite in Surat, Gujarat, adhering to safety standards for handling corrosive chemicals extensively used in chemical plants.
