Role Overview

As our Financial Accountant, you will be the cornerstone of Manukora's finance function, delivering exceptional accounting accuracy and compliance across monthly closes, balance sheet management, audit preparations, and costing activities as we expand globally. Collaborating closely with the Finance Manager, you will have significant influence over operational processes as our finance team scales.

Core Responsibilities

• Manage monthly financial close processes meticulously, including journals, accruals, and reconciliations, ensuring all work is completed accurately and on schedule.
• Focus intensively on inventory reconciliation by identifying and resolving variances within the period, avoiding deferrals.
• Maintain audit readiness and ensure compliance efforts are integrated into routine processes, supporting preparation of consolidated IFRS financial statements and comprehensive balance sheet workpapers.
• Contribute to rebuilding accounting policies and internal controls documentation from the ground up.
• Oversee timely local and international tax filings without exception.
• Advance Manukora's standard costing framework—covering bills of materials, landed costs, and overhead absorption—in partnership with Operations, ensuring alignment between master data (Xero and Cin7) and actual product flow.

Candidate Profile

• You take full responsibility for the precision of your financial outputs and proactively address discrepancies.
• You treat monthly closes as firm commitments, managing task sequencing and proactively removing blockers.
• Your accounting knowledge is robust, grounded in fundamentals like debits and credits and first principles, with good judgment on when to resolve issues independently or escalate.
• You prioritize automation, leveraging AI tools and workflow platforms to streamline and enhance efficiency.
• You aim to complete filings by or before due dates rather than just meeting deadlines.
• You have a strong desire to grow professionally, seeing this role as a stepping stone for advancement.

Experience and Qualifications

• 2 to 3 years of experience in accounting, finance, or related industries.
• Currently progressing toward Chartered Accountant (CA) status or an equivalent certification.
• Preferably with a background in public accounting.
• Comfortable using AI tools and structured workflow systems.
