Role Overview
We seek a commercially driven Finance Director to oversee and advance finance operations across Asia and Australia. This key position partners with senior leaders to boost growth and profitability within a complex, dynamic ecommerce setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead full Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) cycles for Asia and Australia, managing annual operating plans, monthly close, forecasting, and variance analysis.
- Act as the chief financial advisor to regional Managing Directors and leadership teams, supporting critical business decisions.
- Develop and maintain strategic, long-term financial models to guide regional expansion and resource allocation.
- Create rolling forecasts intertwining financial data and operational KPIs with detailed granularity at regional and brand levels.
- Design and deliver comprehensive reporting to provide leadership with transparent, actionable performance insights relative to plans.
- Drive significant financial initiatives across functions and geographies, offering analyses and recommendations influencing major business choices.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related discipline; CPA, CFA, or MBA certifications are advantageous.
- 8 to 15 years of progressive finance experience within complex, matrixed, or multinational corporations.
- Proven leadership through influence with small teams (~2-3 members), emphasizing collaboration over headcount.
- Exceptional communication skills tailored to align diverse stakeholders across cultures, departments, and time zones.
- Adept at operating amidst uncertainty and rapid change, effectively building structures, processes, and best practices on the fly.
- Detail-oriented operator, comfortable constructing financial models and presenting findings to executives.
- Advanced FP&A expertise encompassing budgeting, forecasting, and strategic long-range planning underpinned by solid accounting principles.
- Proficiency in interpreting complex datasets and creating scalable reporting/decision-support frameworks.
- Experienced AI user integrating artificial intelligence meaningfully into daily responsibilities and project execution.
- Skilled with cloud-based finance tools like NetSuite, Workday Adaptive Planning, and advanced Excel capabilities.
- Fluent in Mandarin and English, both written and spoken.
- Preferred experience in ecommerce, retail, or large multinational organizations.
Team Environment
You will collaborate closely with Managing Directors of Asia and Australia and leaders across the organization, reporting to the VP of International Finance Operations in the US. You will guide finance and accounting professionals across APAC in a data-focused, outcome-driven setting that encourages idea sharing and actionable solutions.
