Overview
Join ScottishPower Renewables as a Field Supervisor based at Barnesmore Windfarm, County Donegal, Ireland. This position offers a starting salary of €47,280 plus a 10% annual bonus and single-person healthcare, with a flexible working schedule.
Role Responsibilities
- Serve as the main Field Supervisor for several designated wind farm sites within ScottishPower Renewables' portfolio, ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant daily operational management.
- Oversee site activities and safety risks according to SPR Management Systems and OSHAS 45001 Safety Management System, maintaining environmental compliance with ISO14001.
- Conduct comprehensive site-wide safety and technical inspections and audits, and generate weekly/monthly reports highlighting issues and follow-up programs.
- Coordinate and manage sub-contractors to guarantee safe and efficient execution of site operations, particularly during non-routine maintenance and repair tasks.
- Conduct pre-work assessments per SPR Work Control protocols and perform turbine inspections and fault resetting abiding by the Wind Turbine Safety Rules.
- Assist Area Supervisors and Managers in developing and managing operational expenditure budgets, forecasts, policies, and procedures for allocated sites.
- Collaborate with stakeholders including landowners and emergency services as part of site management duties.
- Provide 24-hour call-out emergency response for assigned sites and perform limited HV equipment operations under electrical safety regulations.
- Support resource management during peak workloads, training, and absence periods.
Candidate Requirements
- Qualification in Electrical or Mechanical disciplines at HNC/HND/City & Guilds level or equivalent.
- Demonstrated experience in windfarm operational management and practical knowledge of electro-mechanical generating plant under company or equivalent safety rules.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and familiarity with SCADA systems.
- Previous exposure to Nordex, Vestas, Siemens, Ecotechnia, or Acciona turbine types is a plus.
- Valid UK driving license, formal qualification for working at height, enclosed space capability, and willingness to travel across ScottishPower sites.
- Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills, adaptability to dynamic environments, self-motivation, and flexibility.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
