Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and officiate at thoroughbred, harness, and greyhound race meetings
  • Lead inquiries and conduct investigations related to racing operations
  • Perform stable inspections and ensure compliance with regulations
  • Manage swabbing procedures and uphold betting integrity standards
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to less experienced Stewards
  • Collaborate closely with industry stakeholders to maintain confidence in Tasmanian racing

Candidate Requirements

  • Prior experience as a Stipendiary Steward or significant expertise in racing integrity
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the Rules of Racing across relevant codes
  • Strong judgement and well-developed decision-making abilities
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
  • A professional, fair, and practical approach to stewardship duties
