About Tasmania Devils Football Club
The Tasmania Devils Football Club is embarking on a historic mission to establish a professional AFL/AFLW team from the ground up. They are building a dedicated and enthusiastic team to engage fans throughout Tasmania and beyond, creating experiences that foster pride, loyalty, and a strong sense of community.
Role Overview
The Events Lead will take charge of planning, executing, and continuously enhancing the Club's event portfolio. This includes activities such as match-day events, corporate functions, community engagement initiatives, and key milestone celebrations. This position manages the entire event lifecycle, blending creativity with meticulous organization to produce events that are true to brand, budget-conscious, and distinctly Tasmanian. Collaborating with Marketing, Partnerships, Football, and Operations teams, the Events Lead ensures that each event strengthens relationships with members, fans, and partners while reflecting the Club's ambitious and purpose-driven identity.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, plan, and deliver a comprehensive event calendar encompassing match-day occasion, business networking, community activations, and partner experiences.
- Ensure events adhere to professional standards, maintaining alignment with brand values, budgets, and the Club's mission.
- Manage all logistical details across venues, catering, audiovisual setup, theming, ticketing, and scheduling to guarantee smooth event execution.
- Work alongside Marketing and Partnerships to incorporate partner activities and brand representation within events.
- Lead the delivery of premium match-day hospitality and activations aimed at members, partners, and VIP guests.
- Coordinate closely with Football, Operations, and Game-Day teams to ensure events complement the sporting experience and elevate fan engagement.
- Champion inclusivity, innovation, and community connection during match-day events.
- Provide operational leadership during match days and peak event periods.
- Serve as the main contact for stakeholders including corporate sponsors, members, community organizations, and government officials linked to Club events.
- Foster robust relationships with suppliers, venues, and contractors, ensuring quality and cost control.
- Align event goals with wider Club strategies through effective collaboration.
- Embed storytelling, inclusiveness, and purposeful narratives in every event to cultivate pride and belonging.
- Oversee event budgets to allocate resources efficiently and manage costs prudently.
- Monitor and report event metrics related to attendance, satisfaction, and commercial impact.
- Develop and refine event systems, processes, and checklists to support scalable growth of the program.
- Identify opportunities to enhance the event program, elevating brand presence and partner engagement.
Candidate Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of proven experience managing end-to-end event delivery in a dynamic, customer-centric setting.
- Demonstrated ability to handle multiple priorities, budgets, and supplier relationships effectively.
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement abilities, comfortable working with partners, members, community groups, and government entities.
- A blend of creative vision and operational rigor; capable of conceptualizing event experiences and managing detailed execution checklists.
- Ability to remain composed and adapt quickly under pressure or when plans change unexpectedly.
- Experience in a professional sports club or major venue environment is highly regarded.
- Possession of Working With Vulnerable People accreditation and a current Driver's Licence is mandatory.

- This is a permanent full-time role based in Hobart, Tasmania, reporting to the Operations and Events Manager.
- The position requires regular work outside standard hours, including evenings and weekends during the season.
