- Handle the cleaning, management, and quality assurance/control of geochemical datasets gathered from both laboratory and field sources.
- Develop and automate data processing, analysis, and visualization workflows using programming languages such as Python and R.
- Support the analysis and interpretation of exploration geochemistry datasets, including soil, rock, and drilling data.
- Prepare detailed tables, figures, and summaries for inclusion in technical reports.
- Facilitate the transition from complex spreadsheet-based workflows to reproducible and auditable digital tools.
- Collaborate closely with senior geochemistry staff to maintain data integrity and traceability throughout projects.
Candidate Qualifications
- A Bachelor of Science degree in Earth Science, Geology, Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or related areas.
- Between zero to two years of relevant experience.
- Eligibility or pursuit of professional designations such as Geoscientist-in-Training (GIT) or Engineer-in-Training (EIT).
- Experience with Python and/or R programming languages, whether through academic courses, thesis work, or project-based learning.
- Familiarity with geospatial software tools like QGIS.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including preparation of technical documentation and presentations.
- A self-directed work ethic with the ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently.
- Motivation for ongoing learning and the aptitude to tackle technically challenging problems.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, especially Word and Excel.
Preferred Additional Qualifications
- Advanced degrees such as a Master's or Ph.D. in relevant scientific disciplines.
- Experience using specialized geochemical modeling software like PHREEQC or The Geochemist’s Workbench.
- Skills in managing and cleaning mineral exploration databases.
- Working proficiency in French language.
- Residency in Sudbury or the Northern Ontario region is advantageous.
Why Join Our Team
- Engage with practical challenges in mining, environmental, and exploration geochemistry while developing state-of-the-art geochemical tools.
