Role Overview

This QA/QC position is for an experienced and meticulous Electrical Quality Assurance Inspector who will verify the standard of electrical installations on industrial and large commercial construction projects across Ireland. The role focuses on ensuring that electrical works match project requirements, comply with Irish rules including I.S. 10101, and meet recognised international quality expectations.

The position is central to delivering electrical systems that are safe, compliant, and built to a high standard for clients operating in sectors such as data centres, pharmaceuticals, and manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities

• Examine electrical installation quality across containment, cabling, terminations, earthing and bonding, panels, and instrumentation wiring.
• Carry out site walkdowns, audits, and inspections throughout the various stages of the installation process.
• Confirm that work aligns with I.S. 10101, project requirements, and related technical specifications.
• Observe testing and commissioning activities such as insulation resistance, continuity, RCD, and loop impedance checks.
• Review, validate, and approve installation records, test documentation, redline/as-built drawings, and handover packs.
• Work closely with electrical supervisors, engineers, and subcontractors to resolve defects, quality concerns, and non-conformances.
• Ensure that all activity follows Safe Electric and HSA safety requirements.
• Take part in quality meetings and support ongoing improvement measures.
• Assist with documentation for FAT, SAT, and client inspection events.

Requirements

• Must be a qualified electrician with a National Craft Certificate or an equivalent credential; further study in Electrical Engineering or Quality is considered an advantage.
• At least 2 to 3 years of experience in electrical QA/QC work on industrial or large-scale commercial projects.
• Strong working knowledge of Irish electrical standards, especially I.S. 10101, along with relevant industry practices and legislation.
• Practical experience in electrical testing processes and document control.
• High attention to detail and familiarity with quality systems such as ISO 9001.

Desirable

• Current Safe Pass and Manual Handling certification.
• Background working in regulated settings such as pharmaceutical facilities, data centres, or ATEX areas.
• Ability to use digital QA systems and reporting tools such as EIDA, BIM 360, or comparable platforms.

Working Conditions

This is a site-based role involving routine inspections in active construction settings. Travel between multiple project locations in Ireland may be required from time to time.

Personal protective equipment must be worn at all times, and compliance with site safety rules is compulsory. The role also requires competence in interpreting technical drawings, cable schedules, and QA checklists.
