Work Schedule and Compensation

The work schedule is to be determined. The position offers a pay rate of $27 per hour.

Primary Responsibilities

• Assist in collecting solid waste by manually loading garbage, recyclables, and yard waste onto assigned routes.
• Support the garbage truck driver with vehicle backing and maneuvering tasks.
• Frequently board and disembark the garbage truck in a safe and efficient way throughout the workday.
• Follow route sheets and instructions given by the driver or dispatcher to ensure all pickup stops are completed.
• Keep collection and dumping zones tidy by picking up any scattered waste.
• Conduct basic safety inspections on equipment and inform the driver or supervisor about any concerns.
• Engage courteously and professionally with customers when required.
• Carry out additional duties as assigned by the driver or supervisor.

Candidate Qualifications

• Capability to perform physically demanding tasks including repeatedly lifting up to 50 lbs and enduring various weather conditions.
• Comfortable with repetitive motions such as walking, bending, lifting, and climbing.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
• Dependable, punctual, and committed to a strong work ethic.
• Previous background in waste collection or manual labor is advantageous.
• Must successfully pass all pre-employment examinations including physical tests and background checks.
