Position Summary
Reporting to the Head of Communications, the Digital Content Specialist will be responsible for producing captivating multimedia content that highlights GOAL's global impact. This role encompasses the entire content production cycle—from conception through distribution on digital platforms such as websites and social media—to enhance GOAL’s brand presence and assist fundraising, advocacy, and engagement activities.
Key Duties
- Develop original video, photographic, and written digital content tailored to various channels and audience needs.
- Plan, capture, and edit visual content including videos and photos for diverse purposes like web presence, social media, fundraising, and advocacy initiatives.
- Conduct interviews with program participants, staff, and stakeholders to craft compelling narratives.
- Customize content formats to suit different platforms and communication goals while adhering to brand guidelines, safeguarding protocols, and ethical storytelling practices.
- Maintain a pipeline of human-interest stories from GOAL’s programs worldwide.
- Publish and optimize digital content across GOAL's website and social accounts.
- Support social media campaigns by generating digital-first content and keeping online resources accurate and audience-focused.
- Stay abreast of digital trends, identify innovative storytelling opportunities, and contribute to integrated communication and advocacy efforts.
- Monitor content performance using analytics tools and apply insights to refine future content strategies, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
- Collaborate closely with country and program teams to source stories and assist colleagues with content creation support.
- Be willing to travel internationally up to approximately 10% of the time, including to challenging environments, to capture stories directly from programs.
Qualifications & Experience
- At least three years of experience producing digital and multimedia content.
- A solid portfolio showcasing high-quality video, photography, and written work.
- Proficient skills in video production and editing using tools such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Photoshop, and Lightroom.
- Exceptional storytelling, interviewing, writing, and editorial capabilities.
- Experience managing content publication on websites and social media platforms.
- Ability to interpret digital analytics and audience engagement data to guide creative decisions.
- Strong organizational abilities to handle multiple projects and deadlines.
- Creative mindset, proactive attitude, and confidence in making editorial decisions.
- Knowledge of safeguarding, informed consent, and ethical storytelling standards.
- Fluency in spoken and written English.
- Willingness and capability to undertake international travel around 10%, even to demanding contexts.
Preferred Qualifications
- Educational background in Journalism, Communications, Digital Media, Film Production, or related fields.
- Experience within humanitarian, development, or non-governmental sectors.
- Work experience in fragile or emergency settings.
- Familiarity with analytics platforms like Google Analytics or Looker Studio.
- Supporting digital fundraising or advocacy campaigns.
- Working knowledge of content management systems such as WordPress.
- Understanding accessibility and inclusive communication principles.
Additional Information
Shortlisted candidates will be asked to present a portfolio demonstrating their relevant creative and digital content skills.
GOAL offers flexible hybrid working arrangements requiring HQ staff to be in the Dublin office two days per week.
