About the Role
Join the team at St. Boniface Hospital within the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority as a Diet Technician in the Patient Food Services department. This temporary on-site role involves preparing and delivering infant and adult enteral feedings in compliance with all sanitary and regulatory standards set by the hospital and health authorities. You will work under the general supervision of the Manager, Patient Food Services or their designate, contributing to the delivery of excellent and equitable healthcare services.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and deliver infant and adult enteral feedings according to hospital-sanctioned procedures and regulations.
- Adhere to all sanitary regulations and quality standards during preparation.
- Perform additional duties related to patient food services as assigned.
Qualifications and Experience
- Completion of an accredited Dietetic Technician program or equivalent (such as a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Nutritional Sciences) is required.
- Valid Food Handler Training Certificate is mandatory.
- Two years of relevant experience is preferred.
- Experience using CBORD Diet Office Management software is considered an asset.
Required Skills
- Basic understanding of nutrition and therapeutic nutrition interventions.
- Proficiency with common software applications, ideally Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and critical thinking abilities.
- Demonstrated initiative, flexibility, and ability to work independently.
- Capable of effective interaction with diverse internal and external stakeholders.
Additional Information
- This position is casual with expected shifts including days and weekends.
- Work schedule consists of 7.5 hours per shift, totaling approximately 1950 annual base hours.
- Starting salary ranges from $33.305 to $38.547 per hour depending on experience.
- Compliance with a current satisfactory Criminal Records Check, including Vulnerable Sector Search, Child Abuse Registry and Adult Abuse Registry Checks, is mandatory. The successful candidate is responsible for any associated costs.
