Role overview
Tranzit, a long-established transport business with a century of history, is seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic for its Whanganui workshop in New Zealand. The company operates a nationwide workshop network that helps keep its fleet safe, reliable, and operating efficiently.
This position suits someone who enjoys hands-on mechanical work, solving faults, and working in a varied environment where every day can look different.
What you will do
- Perform scheduled servicing and carry out small-scale repairs to keep fleet vehicles ready for the road.
- Prepare vehicles for COF inspections.
- Identify mechanical issues and complete effective repairs.
- Make sure all work is completed to strong safety and quality standards.
Requirements
- Trade-qualified diesel mechanic with demonstrated experience of 5+ years, ideally in the road transport sector.
- Solid capability in fault diagnosis and mechanical repair.
- A dependable team-oriented approach with good communication skills.
- Current New Zealand driver licence; Class 2 or above is preferred.
