Customer Delivery Driver - Baldock Extra

About the Role

As the frontline representative of Tesco on the road, Customer Delivery Drivers connect directly with customers at their homes daily. This position involves more than just driving; it focuses on assisting people and offering excellent service with a friendly attitude. The work is physically active and diverse, with each shift bringing unique challenges. Drivers operate independently for most of the day, supported by a team of managers and colleagues at the base whenever assistance is needed.

Work Schedule

• Sundays: 6:00 PM to 11:00 PM
• Wednesdays: 6:00 PM to 11:00 PM
• Fridays: 6:00 PM to 11:00 PM
• Saturdays: 6:00 PM to 11:00 PM

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of your van, trays, and workspace to ensure customers receive their shopping in optimal condition.
• Safely load the delivery van and perform all necessary checks to confirm the vehicle is roadworthy, dependable, and ready for service.
• Communicate politely with customers about any changes to orders, substitutions, or perishable items, offering refunds when appropriate to maintain a smooth customer experience.
• Handle all products carefully, treating each delivery with the utmost quality and respect to uphold customer trust.
• Deliver orders punctually within the customer's specified time slot, providing warm and genuine service to make customers feel appreciated and well cared for.

Candidate Requirements

• Cultivate strong working relationships with colleagues to foster teamwork and deliver exceptional customer service.
• Be friendly and approachable with both customers and team members.
• Adapt promptly to changing customer demands and be flexible to new circumstances both on the road and in-store.
• Hold a valid UK, EU, or EEA driving licence (full or automatic) for at least one year with a maximum of three penalty points.
