Core Banking Services Delivery Lead

Role Overview

The Core Banking Services Delivery Lead will spearhead the Domain Services workstream in a Core Banking Transformation initiative. This involves architecting, developing, and rolling out domain services and microservices aligned with the Banking Industry Architecture Network (BIAN). The role emphasizes API-first design, event-driven integrations, and transforming business capabilities derived from the core banking system.

Responsibilities

• Drive end-to-end delivery of BIAN-aligned Domain Services including design, development, testing, and deployment phases.
• Formulate and implement the Domain Services strategy focusing on extracting and replatforming business capabilities from legacy core banking systems into independent service domains.
• Lead, supervise, and mentor interdisciplinary teams comprising solution architects, API developers, integration experts, and architecture specialists.
• Collaborate with both business stakeholders and technology teams to build the Domain Services roadmap, define scopes, and determine implementation plans.
• Implement API governance frameworks ensuring adherence to BIAN standards, RESTful service principles, and OpenAPI 3.0 specifications.
• Architect orchestration services and integration methodologies connecting domain services with core banking solutions and external applications.
• Champion event-driven architecture using Kafka messaging systems, including event schema design and domain event operations.
• Partner with data and analytics teams to facilitate event streaming, data integration, and meet reporting needs.
• Oversee comprehensive testing activities encompassing API validation, integration tests, contract agreements, and full system validation.
• Communicate project progress, architectural decisions, potential risks, and advise program leadership and governance bodies.
• Develop and enforce Domain Services operating procedures covering API lifecycle, version control, security protocols, and API gateway management.
• Lead transformation projects for specific business capabilities and coordinate with core banking and integration stakeholders.

Qualifications and Skills

• Over 12 years of experience in Enterprise Architecture, Solution Architecture, or Technology Delivery roles.
• At least 5 years of practical experience delivering API-centric and microservices-based solutions.
• Deep familiarity with BIAN Service Domain Model and best practices in its implementation.
• Proficiency in API-first design methodologies, RESTful services, and compliance with OpenAPI 3.0 standards.
• Strong background in event-driven architectures, including Kafka and event-driven design patterns.
• Knowledge of Temenos T24/Transact systems, IRIS APIs, and integration frameworks is essential.
• Demonstrated microservices delivery capability within banking or financial sectors.
• Solid understanding of integration architecture, service orchestration, and overarching enterprise architecture concepts.
• Proven leadership skills with experience managing stakeholders and technical teams.
• Excellent communication abilities and competency in executive-level presentations.
