Overview
We are recruiting an experienced Contracts Manager for a role based in Abu Dhabi within the construction industry. This position entails managing contracts lifecycle, claims, negotiations, disputes, and related legal aspects, ensuring all contractual obligations align with company interests and regional regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all contract phases throughout construction projects to ensure compliance and effectiveness.
- Analyze, interpret, and manage contracts primarily based on FIDIC standards.
- Administer contractual claims, manage contract changes, extensions, and associated duties.
- Support tender processes and assist in negotiating terms with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders.
- Evaluate risks linked to contracts and advise strategically to protect company interests.
- Lead dispute management and resolution processes in line with contractual and legal frameworks.
- Manage legal disputes including arbitration and litigation, coordinating with internal and external legal teams, and representing the company in court matters.
- Collaborate closely with external legal advisors and law firms for effective contract and legal dispute handling.
- Utilize knowledge of Civil, Commercial, and Labor Laws relevant to the construction sector in contracts management.
- Maintain detailed and organized documentation of contracts, claims, variations, and dispute correspondence.
- Communicate contract-related issues clearly to internal and external parties including management, clients, and legal representatives.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Law, or a comparable field.
- At least 15 years of local experience in construction contract management.
- Proficient with FIDIC contracts and experienced in claims and dispute management within construction.
- Strong background in tendering, negotiations, contract variations, and resolving disputes.
- In-depth understanding of Civil, Commercial, and Labor Laws applicable to construction contracts.
- Proven experience in legal disputes, arbitration, and litigation management including liaison with legal counsel.
- Ability to effectively coordinate with external law firms and legal experts.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Possession of a valid driving license is preferred.
