About the Role
Join Aveo at Robina Gardens Retirement Living on the Gold Coast as a Community Maintenance Officer, where you'll be instrumental in ensuring homes and shared areas remain safe, functional, and well maintained for senior residents. This full-time, permanent position offers a chance to engage in a variety of maintenance duties, balancing both reactive and preventative tasks within a vibrant retirement community.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out general repairs and handyperson duties, including painting, hanging pictures, and replacing light fittings.
- Perform minor plumbing maintenance such as tap and washer replacements.
- Assist with the upkeep of external systems like lighting and sprinklers.
- Execute scheduled preventative maintenance initiatives across the community.
- Manage community tools and equipment, ensuring they remain organized, safe, and ready for use.
- Maintain detailed records of maintenance tasks and updates on jobs.
- Engage warmly and professionally with residents as a visible and approachable team member.
- Note: Gardening duties are excluded from this role.
Eligibility and Requirements
- Experience in general maintenance or trade roles with practical handyperson skills.
- A proactive and solution-oriented mindset with the ability to diagnose issues and act independently.
- Knowledge of maintenance schedules and asset lifecycle expectations.
- Clear and confident communicator capable of explaining maintenance work in a resident-friendly manner.
- A positive, approachable demeanor and pride in workmanship.
- Possession of a valid driver's license is mandatory.
- At least two doses of COVID-19 vaccination are required.
