Commissioning Manager

Job Overview

The Commissioning Manager position involves overseeing the planning, coordination, and execution of all testing, commissioning, start-up, and handover processes for building construction projects. This role ensures that Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing (MEP), and other building systems are correctly installed, tested, integrated, and fully functional according to the approved designs, specifications, safety codes, quality standards, and Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Formulate and oversee commissioning plans, schedules, operational procedures, and checklists.
• Lead commissioning personnel including engineers, specialists, subcontractors, and vendors involved in the projects.
• Manage the testing and commissioning activities of systems such as HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, Building Management Systems (BMS), Extra Low Voltage (ELV), generators, Uninterruptible Power Supplies (UPS), and control systems.
• Track the progress of commissioning and address technical challenges, defects, and punch-list items promptly.
• Ensure thorough documentation including detailed test reports, operation and maintenance (O&M) manuals, as-built drawings, and handover documentation are prepared and maintained.
• Organize client training sessions and facilitate final system acceptance procedures.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Building Services Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
• Between 10 to 15 years of experience in construction and commissioning, with at least 5 years in a commissioning management capacity.
• Extensive knowledge and hands-on experience with MEP systems commissioning, testing, start-up, and project handover processes.
• Proven leadership skills combined with effective coordination, problem-solving abilities, and strong communication proficiency.
