Commercial Analyst

Role Overview

Join the ANZ Commercial & Finance Team as a Commercial Analyst where you'll support strategic growth by delivering detailed financial and operational insights for the ANZ Sales entities. Your analysis will guide improvements and drive long-term sales and profitability goals for the Detmold Group.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate closely with the Sales team leading commercial preparations, analyses, and presentations for customer tenders.
• Ensure strict adherence to Government and Industry laws and regulations.
• Manage and complete crucial financial activities including month and year-end processes, General Ledger and Balance Sheet reconciliations, and assist in producing Profit & Loss statements.
• Identify low-margin product categories and lines, advising management with market intelligence-backed recommendations.
• Oversee customer rebates ensuring formal agreements authorized by both parties are in place.
• Generate customer profitability reports, assess performance against targets, and uncover cost-saving opportunities.
• Monitor and control service costs for NZ entities against budget, proposing cost-effective alternatives.
• Prepare monthly cashflow statements and forecasts, focusing on creditor and loan commitments compliance.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Strong commercial awareness coupled with effective negotiation and influencing capabilities.
• Degree in Business, Finance, or Accounting.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office suite including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical thinking skills.
• Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
• Highly organized with superior time management, able to prioritize and meet deadlines efficiently.
• Resilient, proactive, and eager to pursue continuous improvements.

Preferred Attributes

• Professional accounting certification such as CA or CPA.
• Experience liaising with Senior Management in commercial or business contexts.
• Background in manufacturing environments is advantageous.
