About the Role
Join a full-time permanent position based in Inner-City Sydney where each shift contributes to maintaining the cleanliness and vibrancy of Sydney's public spaces. This role involves diverse cleaning responsibilities across footpaths, roadways, plazas, and public precincts using various methods including manual cleaning, pressure washing, refuse removal trucks, and mechanical sweepers. The position offers a supportive team environment with comprehensive training to develop skills in operating specialized cleansing equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform manual street cleaning and bulk waste removal, including handling illegal dumping and servicing street litter bins.
- Operate various plant equipment such as street sweepers and waste compactors safely and efficiently.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness across Sydney's LGA and public areas during scheduled shifts.
- Adapt to shifting priorities and undertake additional duties as assigned by supervisors.
- Comply with health and safety regulations and maintain equipment in good working order.
Candidate Requirements
- Physically fit and capable of performing demanding manual tasks.
- Experience in street cleaning and waste removal preferred.
- Current Medium Rigid (MR) or Heavy Vehicle (HR) driver's licence is mandatory.
- Clean driving record with demonstrated safe driving habits.
- Availability to work across weekday shifts with occasional weekends and public holidays.
- Previous experience operating and maintaining street sweepers and plant equipment is highly desirable.
Additional Information
- The position includes the option for a rostered day off every two weeks (9-day fortnight arrangement).
- Applicants must successfully complete pre-employment health and medical assessments.
Salary and Benefits
The annual remuneration for this role is $75,609 plus superannuation.
