Cleaning Operative

Overview

SEFM Ltd is looking for a dependable and motivated Cleaning Operative to provide exceptional cleaning services at Bournemouth & Poole College’s Poole campus. This permanent position involves working 37.5 hours weekly to help maintain a hygienic, safe, and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors.

Responsibilities

• Consistently delivering top-tier cleaning services throughout the college campus.
• Adhering to company protocols and health and safety guidelines at all times.
• Cleaning diverse areas such as classrooms, offices, hallways, kitchens, toilets, and washrooms.
• Removing waste and ensuring hygiene standards are upheld.
• Performing deep cleaning tasks on a weekly basis in assigned areas.
• Operating cleaning equipment, including carpet cleaners and hard floor machines.
• Maintaining all cleaning tools in sanitary and good working condition.
• Following a structured daily cleaning timetable and assisting the wider Estates Team as needed.

Candidate Requirements

• Minimum of two years’ experience in a cleaning role; experience in an educational environment is preferable.
• Solid understanding of cleaning techniques, chemical usage, and equipment handling.
• Knowledgeable about proper health and safety procedures in cleaning operations.
• Proactive mindset with meticulous attention to detail.
• Capable of working independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
• Dependable, flexible, and committed to achieving high cleaning standards.
• Open to working evening shifts as required.
• Educational qualifications such as GCSEs or equivalent and/or relevant cleaning certifications are advantageous.
