Role Overview
The Claims Analyst, also designated as Contract Engineer-I, is responsible for managing and evaluating contractor claims to ensure compliance with contractual obligations while reinforcing the company's stance in claims defense and dispute avoidance.
Primary Responsibilities
- Examine and assess contractor claims related to scheduling delays, cost variations, financial consequences, and scope deviations.
- Create comprehensive impact assessments utilizing tools such as Primavera P6, Costpoint, and other appropriate software applications.
- Collaborate closely with project teams to collect factual information required for accurate claims analysis.
- Compose company responses to contractor claims backed by technical, legal, and contractual rationales.
- Maintain an updated claims log detailing exposure, current status, and mitigation approaches.
Key Deliverables
- Reports reviewing contractor claims.
- Evaluations of claims entitlement and impact.
- Log of claims with tracking of status and exposure levels.
- Dashboard summarizing claims data for management oversight.
- Recommendations for company’s official responses to claims.
- Plans directed at mitigating and avoiding claims.
Compliance and Standards
- Adherence to relevant Aramco General Instructions (GIs), contractual frameworks, and recognized international best practices.
- Follow industry standards for contract and claims administration.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Contract Management, or a related discipline.
- Over 10 years of experience in contract administration or claims analysis specifically within third-party projects.
- In-depth knowledge of contract clauses, change control mechanisms, and claims management processes.
- Familiarity with Aramco’s General Instructions and contractual frameworks.
- Strong analytical capabilities coupled with excellent communication and documentation skills.
