Overview
Family Service Agency (FSA) of Santa Barbara County is seeking an experienced Chief Strategy & Operations Officer (CSOO) to join its Executive Leadership Team. Reporting to the CEO, this pivotal executive role involves leading strategic vision execution and ensuring operational excellence across the organization. The CSOO oversees organizational operations, human resources, compliance, risk management, and strategic projects to enhance FSA's ability to serve Santa Barbara’s diverse communities. The role offers a chance to impact community wellbeing through collaborative leadership in a trauma-informed, diversity-focused environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the CEO and senior leaders to advance organizational strategy and set long-term direction.
- Manage operational and human resources functions to optimize organizational efficiency, compliance, and workforce performance.
- Design and improve systems, policies, and processes that promote growth, accountability, and continuous development.
- Coach and support agency leaders and teams to foster high performance and professional growth.
- Direct budgeting, resource allocation, and strategic projects aligned with organizational goals.
- Act as the agency’s Privacy Officer ensuring compliance with HIPAA and data privacy regulations.
- Lead crisis response planning and organizational risk management activities.
- Cultivate and maintain partnerships with community organizations, funders, stakeholders, and public entities.
- Represent FSA externally, identifying innovation, partnership, and expansion opportunities within the community.
Qualifications and Attributes
- Proven leadership experience in human services, nonprofit management, public administration, or equivalent sectors.
- Track record of successfully leading teams, managing operations, and executing organizational transformation.
- Expertise in strategic planning, budgeting, program innovation, and performance oversight.
- Strong communicator with excellent relationship-building and problem-solving skills.
- Deep commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, cultural humility, and trauma-informed care principles.
- Sound judgment, integrity, adaptability, and ability to foster a collaborative leadership culture.
