Position Overview

Joining Walmart Canada as a Cashier offers a valuable opportunity to enhance your retail skills and gain experience in customer service. The fundamental role involves delivering exceptional service at checkout counters to foster customer loyalty. Cashiers also act as vigilant protectors of company assets, maintaining high attention to detail to minimize loss.

Key Duties

• Warmly greet every customer with politeness and friendliness.
• Efficiently manage purchase transactions and deactivate items in line with the Electronic Article Surveillance (EAS) program.
• Advocate for Walmart’s sponsored programs such as credit card services, product protection plans, and charitable initiatives.
• Support customers by assisting with packing and loading of their purchased goods.
• Adhere to safety measures, practicing proper lifting techniques and maintaining a tidy work environment.
• Secure and maintain the cash register integrity through careful handling of cash and strict compliance with company policies.
• Direct customers to the Customer Service Manager when specific service or transactional support is needed.

Compensation

The starting wage for this role is set at $15.50 per hour.

Minimum Eligibility and Qualifications

Candidates must be at least 16 years old to qualify.
