Cantonese Language Freelancer Interpreter

Role Overview

We are seeking experienced freelancers fluent in Cantonese and English to undertake remote international interpreting assignments. This is an excellent opportunity for language professionals passionate about interpretation to engage in flexible contract work.

Qualifications and Skills

• Fluency in both Cantonese and English languages.
• At least six months of interpreting experience is preferred.
• Strong listening, retention, and note-taking abilities to ensure accuracy.
• Capability to convey meanings precisely, following accepted interpreting protocols without omitting or adding content.
• Willingness and skill to clarify cultural contexts when necessary and with client consent to prevent misunderstandings.

Technical Requirements

• English proficiency at 90% or higher.
• Reliable wired internet connection.
• USB wired headset for clear audio communication.
• Use of Windows 10 or Mac operating systems.

Role Responsibilities

• Respond professionally to incoming interpretation calls in accordance with the interpreter's code of conduct.
• Maintain familiarity with terminology specific to the healthcare and medical sectors.
• Participate in internal professional training programs.
• Communicate regularly with your team leader and provide necessary reports.
