Role Overview
Milly’s Café, based inside St Marys Rugby League Club, is a lively, high-volume café that serves breakfast, café favourites, burgers, light meals, coffee, and catering for club members, visitors, and guests staying at Holiday Inn Sydney St Marys. The club is a major hospitality destination in Western Sydney, known for its community focus, strong service culture, and broad offering across bars, dining, entertainment, events, and accommodation.
About the Opportunity
The club is looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Cook to join Milly’s Café. This is a practical, hands-on position suited to someone who enjoys a busy service environment and takes pride in producing high-quality food while contributing to an outstanding guest experience. The role supports everyday café operations, breakfast service for hotel guests, and meal preparation across café and catering service periods.
Key Duties
- Cook and prepare breakfast, café, and light meal items to a consistently high standard
- Assist with breakfast service for guests staying at Holiday Inn Sydney St Marys
- Help with food prep, portioning, plating, and presentation
- Support both café service and catering requirements as needed
- Keep dishes consistent in quality, taste, and portion size
- Follow food safety, hygiene, and cleanliness practices at all times
- Work effectively during peak and fast-moving service periods
- Help manage stock rotation and maintain kitchen order
- Communicate clearly with café and broader operations staff
- Keep the kitchen area clean, safe, and well organised
- Contribute positively to a collaborative, team-oriented workplace
About You
You are a hospitality professional who enjoys teamwork and performs well in a busy kitchen setting.
What You Need
- Prior experience as a Cook, Breakfast Cook, Café Cook, or in another busy kitchen role
- Confident skills in food preparation and short-order cooking
- Breakfast service experience will be looked on favourably
- Good knowledge of food safety and kitchen hygiene standards
- Ability to stay efficient and calm under pressure
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Dependable, punctual, and positive in approach
- Willingness to work early mornings, nights, weekends, and public holidays
- Commitment to delivering a great customer experience
