Role Overview

The Large Industries Business Development (LIBD) professional operates at the crossroads of strategic planning, commercial activities, financial analysis, and project management to drive growth in the Large Industries sector. This position requires managing multi-million dollar investment projects by coordinating solution sales processes and integrating strategy formulation, client engagement, financial modeling, commercial proposal development, and contract management.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and nurture strong, trustworthy relationships with major companies in oil refining, chemical, petrochemical, and steel sectors.
Analyze and understand customer requirements, processes, projects, and challenges in depth.
Identify key decision-makers and evaluate organizational decision criteria within client companies.
Monitor competitors' actions, capabilities, and market contexts related to sales opportunities.
Facilitate internal collaboration and awareness across departments and entities to align efforts.
Recognize and initiate business opportunities aligned with company strategy and design winning approaches backed by solid qualitative and quantitative rationale.
Prepare commercial presentations, proposals, and bids, collaboratively negotiate and draft project framework agreements such as gas supply, utilities agreements, and memorandums with legal teams.
Mobilize cross-functional project teams—including engineering, legal, finance, among others—to pursue identified business growth opportunities.
Define project scope, costs, and timelines to deliver both customer value and profitable growth.
Manage rigorous and timely investment decision-making processes inside and outside the company.
Produce critical internal documentation, including investment committee reports.
Apply financial principles including profit and loss, cash flow, balance sheet interpretation, and investment concepts such as net present value, internal rate of return, hurdle rates, and opportunity costs to manage project financial models accurately for pricing and investment decisions.

Required Qualifications and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in engineering or finance-related disciplines; MBA is advantageous.
Between 5 to 10 years’ proven experience in business development involving investment decision-making.
Familiarity with refining, chemical, petrochemical processes, or energy transition topics is a significant plus.
