Business Data Analyst

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Business Data Analyst specialized in handling extensive data applications, analysis, and transformations to support enterprise-level initiatives within the Property & Casualty (P&C) Insurance sector. This role involves collaborating closely with both business stakeholders and technical teams to enhance data precision, uniformity, and business value.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive data analyses including profiling, verification, and transformation related to large-scale data integration and reporting.
• Create detailed source-to-target data mappings and documentation aligned with business needs.
• Engage with business users and stakeholders to gather and convert functional requirements into clear technical specifications.
• Collaborate with data engineers and development teams to implement and verify data consolidation, standardization, and transformation tasks.
• Optimize complex SQL queries to ensure efficient performance and accurate handling of vast datasets.
• Participate in evaluating data quality and suggest strategies for data cleansing and enrichment.
• Utilize deep domain expertise in P&C Insurance, focusing on policy management and claims processing, ensuring data coherence with business operations.
• Serve as a communication bridge among business subject matter experts, data modelers, and technical personnel to facilitate successful data delivery and adoption.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• A minimum of five years' experience in data analysis, mapping, and transformation within enterprise-level data environments.
• Advanced proficiency in SQL, including analytical functions, query tuning, and performance improvements.
• Demonstrated experience developing source-to-target mapping documentation and understanding of ETL and data flow processes.
• Exposure to integrating, standardizing, and transforming data from diverse sources.
• Comprehensive knowledge of the Property & Casualty Insurance domain.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to collaborate effectively across technical and business teams.
• Strong documentation skills capable of producing clear technical and business materials.

Education

A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related discipline is required.
