Job Purpose and Overview

The role of Assistant Unit Manager (AUM) in the personal loans rural segment involves responsibilities around credit verification, marketing participation, customer sourcing, and training to support the unit manager in achieving operational goals and customer satisfaction.

Key Performance Indicators

New customer acquisition rates
Growth in volume of funded loans
Collection percentages
Non-Performing Credit (NCL) percentages
Loan disbursal volume
Completion of center meetings
Collections and disbursements compliance with process
Timely resolution of customer queries within TAT
Team attrition rates and development
Number of escalations from team members
Coordination with GCO for collections and disbursements
Adherence to loan process standards
RCR rating and rating maintenance
Proper maintenance of all registers and statutory documents
Maintaining cleanliness and hygiene of the branch

Scope and Reporting

The supervisor manages a team graded from R1 to R7 including 4 direct reports. The AUM supports the Unit Manager and manages various branch operational tasks.

Primary Responsibilities

Building and sustaining a quality lending portfolio by participating in Customer Portfolio Visits (CPVs) and Group Review Teams (GRTs)
Ensuring thorough credit verification for every group loan formed
Supporting cash management processes including daily cash reconciliation
Conducting frequent house visits to confirm proper loan utilization
Overseeing punctual collections by attending 4-5 center meetings daily and following up with defaulters alongside the GCO
Engaging in marketing and brand awareness events when necessary
Leading daily GCO meetings to oversee operations and resolve issues
Assisting the Unit Manager in administrative branch functions
Monitoring performance metrics of GCOs and facilitating their career progression and training
Identifying and managing various risks associated with the loan portfolio to ensure diversification and quality
Upholding high levels of customer satisfaction by analyzing causes of drop-outs and implementing retention strategies

Required Skills and Expertise

Strong communication skills for public interaction
Analytical capability to make independent decisions using quantitative and qualitative data
Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision
Excellent interpersonal, relationship management, and customer service skills
Demonstrated leadership and ability to manage teams both directly and remotely
Effective multitasking, prioritization, delegation, and problem-solving abilities
Disciplined and process-oriented approach
Willingness to spend substantial time in fieldwork

Domain Knowledge and Experience

Expertise in rural market lending operations
Minimum of 4 years of experience in the rural sector, including at least 2 years in a supervisory capacity
Educational background is 12th pass or any graduate
