About the Company
Our client specializes in fit-out and construction projects across Ireland and the UK. The vacancy is for an assistant project manager/project coordinator based in the mid-west region, suitable for someone residing in Clare or Limerick.
Job Overview and Responsibilities
The assistant project manager will collaborate with the Project Management team to supervise retail fit-out and construction activities, ensuring proper project setup and efficient adherence to best practices, policies, and procedures. The key responsibilities include:
- Supervising multiple projects at a strategic level, managing shared resources and budgets to ensure timely progress within financial limits.
- Coordinating with clients and design teams during planning and design phases to meet stakeholder requirements.
- Developing budgets and controlling project costs to adhere to financial guidelines.
- Ensuring compliance with health and safety, quality, environmental, and building regulations for all construction projects.
- Providing leadership and making strategic decisions to guide the project team.
- Establishing and enforcing procedures to improve performance and ensuring that staff follow company protocols.
- Conducting meetings with clients, stakeholders, and the project team to communicate progress updates.
- Managing potential risks to prevent delays or damage to company reputation.
- Building strong, collaborative relationships with clients.
- Working closely with Senior Management on daily operations while contributing to future growth and pipeline strategies.
Candidate Requirements
- At least 3 years of relevant experience post-qualification, suitable for construction graduates or equivalent backgrounds.
- Proven experience executing commercial or retail construction projects.
- Strong self-motivation and ability to exert authority on project matters.
- Proficient use of IT tools such as Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word and AutoCAD.
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
- Competent in reading construction drawings.
- Experience in successful projects within Ireland and UK construction markets.
- Fluency in English.
- Familiarity with retail fire alarm and sprinkler system construction is advantageous but not mandatory.
