Assistant Manager - Infrastructure and Network Management

Overview

The Assistant Manager - Infrastructure & Network Management role is accountable for overseeing enterprise IT infrastructure, network operations, systems administration, cloud and hosting platforms, security controls, Microsoft ecosystem management, and API integration frameworks across multiple business locations. The position ensures centralized governance while supporting distributed IT teams, maintaining high uptime, performance, security, scalability, and operational stability for mission-critical technology services.

Primary Responsibilities

• Plan, deploy, and manage enterprise IT infrastructure, encompassing on-premises servers, cloud resources, virtualization platforms, storage, backup, and related subsystems.
• Administer Windows and Linux server environments, including installation, configuration, monitoring, patch updates, performance tuning, security hardening, and lifecycle handling.
• Manage virtualization technologies like VMware, Hyper-V, Nutanix, or similar platforms.
• Guarantee high server availability, capacity planning, backup preparedness, and resilience for essential business systems.
• Oversee multi-vendor network infrastructure including LAN, WAN, wireless, VPNs, routing, switching, load balancers, DNS, and DHCP services across centralized and remote sites.
• Utilize enterprise monitoring and alert tools to track network status, availability, and performance metrics.
• Diagnose complex network problems and coordinate with internal teams, vendors and service providers for prompt resolutions.
• Facilitate network reliability and optimization to enhance user experience and operational performance.
• Manage Azure, AWS, or hybrid cloud environments including resource administration, hosting, identity integration, monitoring, and governance.
• Support cloud infrastructure planning, migration, optimization, backup, disaster recovery, and security compliance.
• Implement and maintain firewall configurations, access policies, VPN arrangements, and network security measures inline with governance policies.
• Conduct infrastructure hardening, vulnerability remediation, patch management, audit assistance, and compliance activities.
• Collaborate with security teams for risk monitoring, incident response, and security control enforcement on infrastructure and network domains.
• Manage enterprise API integration services including REST and SOAP APIs, API gateways, middleware, managed file transfer, messaging platforms, and event-driven systems.
• Oversee API lifecycle tasks including design support, deployment, monitoring, performance tuning, troubleshooting, and governance to ensure secure, scalable integrations.
• Administer Microsoft platforms such as Azure Active Directory, Microsoft 365, Intune, identity and access management, endpoint management, and related policies.
• Provide centralized governance and operational support for distributed IT teams across multiple locations ensuring standardization in processes, monitoring, compliance, and documentation.
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders, IT teams, vendors, telecom providers, cloud partners to deliver effective operational support and successful project rollouts.
• Manage vendor relations, SLAs, service quality reviews, escalations, and technology upgrade initiatives.
• Drive continuous improvements focusing on service availability, automation, risk mitigation, efficiency, and documentation.

Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Electronics, Engineering, or related fields.
• 7 to 10+ years’ experience managing complex IT infrastructure, network administration, systems, cloud operations, security, and enterprise integration in multi-location setups.
• Expertise in Windows Server and Linux environments administration.
• Hands-on experience with virtualization platforms such as VMware, Hyper-V, Nutanix, or equivalents.
• In-depth knowledge of network technologies including LAN, WAN, routing, switching, VPN, firewalls, DNS, DHCP, load balancers, and wireless infrastructure.
• Experience with multi-vendor network environments and supporting technologies.
• Proficient in cloud platforms like Azure, AWS, or hybrid setups, including governance and security compliance.
• Strong background in firewall management, patching, vulnerability management, and infrastructure hardening.
• Familiarity with API integration technologies including REST/SOAP, API gateways, middleware, managed file transfers, and messaging platforms such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, IBM MQ, ActiveMQ or Azure Service Bus.
• Competence in monitoring, logging, alerting tools alongside backup and disaster recovery strategies.
• Microsoft ecosystem administration skills involving Azure AD, Microsoft 365, Intune, endpoint security, access management, and policy enforcement.
• Automation and scripting experience using PowerShell, Bash, or Python is advantageous.
• Strong grasp of ITIL processes including incident, change, problem management, and service requests.
• Excellent troubleshooting abilities in distributed, high-availability, sensitive operational environments.
• Preferred experience in aviation, ground handling, logistics, transportation, or similar multi-site operational industries.
• Certifications such as Azure Administrator Associate, Azure Solutions Architect, CCNA, CCNP, VMware Certified Professional, ITIL Foundation, RHCSA, or RHCE considered beneficial.
